Chipping & Painting Service

Complete hull, deck, tank and superstructure surface preparation and marine painting carried out afloat, at anchorage or in dry dock by certified squads.

Overview

Professional Chipping & Painting Services

Sea First Marine Service provides complete chipping, scaling, blasting and marine painting services to ship owners, operators, managers and charterers at Chittagong, Mongla and Payra Ports. Our trained surface-preparation squads work alongside vessel staff to restore steel condition, arrest corrosion and deliver a coating system that meets manufacturer specification and class expectations.

Every job is executed with the correct surface standard, the correct paint scheme and the correct environmental controls. From a single ballast tank touch-up at anchorage to a full hull repaint in dry dock, we mobilise the manpower, staging, compressors and coating materials required to complete the work safely and on schedule.

Surface Preparation to Class Standard

Coating life depends entirely on preparation. Our teams work to recognised ISO 8501-1 standards — St2 and St3 for power tool cleaning, Sa2 and Sa2.5 for abrasive blasting — and record surface profile, salt contamination, humidity and dew point before any coat is applied.

Approved Marine Coating Systems

We apply coating systems from internationally recognised marine paint manufacturers, following the paint maker's technical data sheet for thinning ratio, over-coating interval, film thickness and curing time. Wet and dry film thickness readings are logged for every coat.

Work Afloat, At Anchorage & In Dry Dock

Chipping and painting is carried out alongside berth, at outer anchorage from launches and staging, and during scheduled dry docking. Our anchorage squads travel with their own compressors, generators, staging and safety equipment so no vessel resource is consumed.

Safety, Environment & Waste Control

Every squad works under a permit-to-work system with enclosed-space entry procedures, gas testing, forced ventilation, fall protection, spark-free tooling and full PPE. Spent grit, scale, paint waste and containers are collected and disposed through licensed contractors with documentation.

Speed Without Compromise

We size the gang to the deadline. Multiple shifts, night work and parallel teams on separate work fronts allow large scopes to be closed within the vessel's port stay so that painting never becomes the reason a ship is delayed.

Specification
Agree preparation standard, coating system, film thickness and number of coats with owner and paint maker.
3
Mobilisation
Deploy manpower, staging, compressors, tooling and coating materials to vessel or dry dock.
4
Preparation
